Taxonomic remark Abandoned as a a taxonomic concept, per Morrow & Cárdenas, 2015, who state: The SP {=Systema Porifera] order Halichondrida contains the following five families: Halichondriidae, Axinellidae, Dictyonellidae, Heteroxyidae and Bubaridae (Figure 1). However, the monophyly of Halichondrida has never been recovered in any morphological, molecular or biochemical cladistics analyses (e.g. [5,39,40]). ... Altogether, these well-established results force us to formally propose the abandonment of Halichondrida. [Type family Halichondriidae is now in Suberitida]. [details]
