From that work: Kalgutkar & Jansonius (2000) remarked “The particular structure of the grouped spores makes the fungal nature of this taxon questionable. The summary diagnosis and description do not help to clarify its affinity; a reexamination of the holotype is needed to answer these questions”. From the general organization, the holotype appears to be a fungal spore tetrad. [details]
