Descriptive info Includes FW species (Whitton et al., 2003) Bourrelly 81. From AlgaeBase: At one time including virtually all species of Acrochaetiaceae, the genus is circumscribed (Harper & Saunders 2002) now to include only freshwater species. [details]

Taxonomic remark AlgaeBase (2020 version) lists this genus in the Acrochaetiaceae following an older work, however according to Saunders et al., 2017, the genus belongs in the resurrected family Audouinellaceae. [details]
