Taxonomic remark Initially described as body fossils of Cnidaria, subsequently considered trace fossils, inorganic structures, and siliceous sponges, refer Ciampaglio et al., 2006. The latter authors' interpretation is presently followed here, although Nolan et al., 2023 question it and consider Brooksella a pseudofossil. [details]
