Authorship given in Nomenlcator Zoologicus as Saussure, 1869, and in Schwarz & Roy, 2019 as Saussure & Zehntner, 1894; Saussure, 1869 is possibly correct per this account in Anderson, 2021: Saussure first described Acontista cordillerae in 1869 from a single male specimen that was collected in Mexico. In 1894, Saussure & Zehntner assessed a series of Acontista from various locations within Latin America for their Biologia CentraliAmericana tome. [details]
