Taxonomic remark Second entry in Nomenclator Zoologicus (cf. Cercaria Müller, 1773) but possibly a later usage of the latter; not further researched. Cercaria Müller, 1773 contains a mix of organisms and has been treated as a protist or rotifer genus, but is now generally used as a collective-group name for otherwise unidentifiable larval trematodes, refer Jersabek et al., 2018.
