Taxonomic remark Possibly a junior homonym of Leioaletes Timofeev, 1955 (Acritarcha), if the latter is validly described. From Libertín et al., 2014: The genus Leioaletes was defined for alete circular to oval laevigate spores. However, the absence of an aperture is very questionable, and it is probable that spores previously assigned to this genus in fact may belong to Laevigatosporites and/or Latosporites. [details]
