Taxonomic remark Doweld, 2012, Proposed to conserve the name Cyclodendron against the supposedly earlier published Subsigillaria and Eusigillaria, however the the Nomenclature Committee on Fossils decided that the latter two names were originally published as subgenera of Sigillaria and did not threaten Cyclodendron, therefore the proposal was rejected since conservation of Cyclodendron was not required (Herendeen, 2015).
