Taxonomic remark An illegitimate later homonym of Aikinia Wall. (1832) (GRIN). From Index Nominum Genericorum: Wallich (l.c. 46. 15 Aug. 1832) relinquished the name Aikinia [Pl. Asiat. Rar. 3: t. 273. 15 Jun 1832.] on learning that the same plant had been named Ratzeburgia earlier by Kunth. Then R. Brown in Wallich, l.c. 3: 65. t. 288. 15 Aug. 1832, gave the name Aikinia to another plant. [however that name - this taxon - remains illegitimate]. [details]
