Taxonomic remark See Gotlandia Dall 1870. (Nomen. Zool.). Nomen. Zool. treats this as a new name, however it is in fact a later usage of Trimerella Billings, 1862, not a new name. Gotlandia Dall, 1870 was proposed as a new genus for Lindström's species, not for any homonymous genus name. In any case, Dall (1871) withdrew his genus name (Gotlandia) after examining additional material, deciding that Lindström's material (an unnamed species) probably fell within Billings' generic concept in any case. [details]
