Taxonomic remark A.R. Loeblich Jr. & A.R. Loeblich III, 1966 replaced Tetrasphaera Górka, 1965 with their new name Gorkadinium on account of homonymy with Tetrasphaera Popofsky, 1912 (Radiolaria). Thus under the zoological Code, Gorkadinium would be correct, however dinoflagellates are more generally treated under the botanical Code (ICN), under which Tetrasphaera is not preoccupied and is therefore the accepted name for this genus. [details]
