Taxonomic remark Conserved (nom. cons.) against the homotypic synonym Pteretis Raf., nom. rej. (GRIN). Close to, and possibly synonymous with, Onoclea Linnaeus, 1753 according to Christenhusz et al., 2011, however retained as a separate genus in Novikoff & Barabasz-Krasny, 2015 and PP1, 2016.
