Taxonomic remark Possible earlier publication: Tableau Genres Vég. Foss. 1849. (Index Nominum Genericorum). A homotypic synonym of Calamitea B. Cotta 1832 according to Index Nominum Genericorum. According to Taylor et al. 2009, Calamitea is currently the correct name for this genus. Doweld (2013) has subsequently published a proposal to conserve Calamodendron over the latter name, but this proposal was rejected by the Nomenclature Committee on Fossils (Herendeen, 2016). [details]
