Taxonomic remark Fourtanier & Kociolek, 1999 state that "Cleveia Pantocsek in Tempère 1895 is an example where the name of the only included species is not formed as a binomial with the genus concerned. Only one species is included, Alloeoneis castracanei Pant. in Tempère, which is not validly transferred to genus Cleveia." Alloeoneis Pantocsek is a misspelling of Alloioneis K.M. Schumann ex P.T. Cleve, 1878, currently listed in AlgaeBase as a synonym of Scoliopleura. [details]
