Taxonomic remark Regarding the synonymy, Ash & Pigg, 1991, state: "Saporta (1888) described Isoetopsis, which he later renamed Isoetites chofati...", indicating that the type species was transferred into Isoetites. The name is also a junior homonym of Isoëtopsis Turczaninow, 1851, an extant flowering plant in Asteraceae. [details]
