Taxonomic remark This genus, without designated type, was assigned to the Cyanophyceae by G. Claus. F. Drouet validated the name by designating a type species, which he considered representative of the Rhodophyceae. (Index Nominum Genericorum). Genus not included in Komárek et al, 2014 treatment, however included as a Cyanophyte (in Cyanobacteriaceae) in Kaštovský et al., 2021. Currently listed in Rhodophyta incertae sedis in AlgaeBase, although IRMNG follows Kaštovský et al., 2021. [details]
