Taxonomic remark Vesicularia I. Schmidt, 1974 was illegitimate when published, being preoccupied both by Vesicularia P. Micheli ex Targ. Tozz., 1826 (Algae), nom. rej., and Vesicularia (Müll. Hal.) Müll. Hal., 1896 (Bryophyta), nom. cons.; the published replacement name is Cumulospora I. Schmidt, 1985. A further replacement name, Basramyces Abdullah, Abdulk. & Goos was published in 1989 but that name is superfluous. [details]
