Taxonomic remark Nomenclatural history unclear; Batten & Christopher, 1981, cite the authority for this genus as Erdtman, 1947 ex Cookson, 1950, however other sources state that Cookson's name is a nomen nudum. Other sources e.g. Saxena & Singh, 1981, Palaebotanist 30: 325-339 cite the authority as Erdtman ex Couper, 1953. ING gives authorship as N. E. Ross ex R. A. Couper, New Zealand Geol. Surv. Paleontol. Bull. 22: 60. 1953. (non I. C. Cookson 1950), but does not contain an entry for the name introduced by Cookson. [details]
