Taxonomic remark Originally described as fossil alga, but now considered a trace fossil, possibly produced by polychaete or echiuran worms, refer IGBS website. The genus name has also been used in the past (misapplied) for plant fossils now recognised as ginkgophyte leaves, refer Bauer et al., 2013. Listed in AlgaeBase, 2021 version as Chlorophyta incertae sedis, not followed in IRMNG. [details]
