Taxonomic remark Name originally created for material interpreted as angiosperm twigs, later reassigned to fossil conifers. Zijlstra et al., 2010, proposed to reject Sedites in favour of its junior synonym Geinitzia, however this proposal was not accepted by the Nomenclature Committee for Fossil Plants, refer Herendeen, 2011.
