Taxonomic remark Synonymy (syn. of Striatella K. Mädler, 1964) follows Zavattieri & Volkheimer, 2003, however since Striatella Mädler is a nom. inval. (junior homonym of Striatella C.A. Agardh, 1832, a diatom) the next available name Asseretospora W.M.L. Schuurman, 1977 should probably be used in place of Striatella Mädler (not currently the case in the palynological literature).
