Taxonomic remark According to Doweld, 2002, Russian paleobotanists today use Angarocarpus in a sense differently from that originally published, while the type of Tungussocarpus lies within Angarocarpus, making the two names synonyms. Doweld proposed to separate the genera per current usage by selecting a different type for Angarocarpus, but this proposal did not receive support from the Nomenclature Committee for Fossil Plants (Herendeen, 2011).
