Taxonomic remark Amphilothus was introduced as a lapsus for Amphitholus F. Schutt by Kofoid (1907: 165, 206). Realizing that Amphitholus was preoccupied in zoological nomenclature, Poche (1913) adopted Amphilothus as a substitute name. Although Amphitholus is not preoccupied in botanical nomenclature, to avoid future confusion the ICBN has conserved Amphilothus as the correct name for this taxon, refer Silva, 1994 and ICBN, 1999, Appendix IIIA. Gómez, 2017 re-studied Achradina, Amphilothus and Monaster and concluded that the three genera/species represented the same taxon, with the name Monaster having priority. [details]
