Taxonomic remark To distinguish most of the currently recognised species of this genus from Otozamites, of which it would otherwise become a senior synonym, Zijlstra & Konijnenburg‐van Cittert, 2020 proposed its conservation with a new type, a proposal that was recommended for acceptance by the Nomenclature Committee for Fossils (Herendeen, 2022).
