Taxonomic remark Fossil shark teeth, initially described as conodonts; listed as Annelida in Nomenclator Zoologicus. Bransonella was "often identified as a xenacanthid in the past" according to Hampe & Ivanov, 2007, those authors assigned it to its own order Bransonelliformes (together with Barbclabornia Johnson, 2003) but omitted to erect any family to contain either genus.
