Taxonomic remark Presently treated as "accepted" in IRMNG since no replacement name has been proposed (although a junior homonym of Acanthoptera Latreille in Cuvier, 1829 in Insecta). The relevant volume of the original work (Ergeb. Plankton-Exped. Humboldt-Stift., 3, F. 1) does not appear to be in BHL as at 2024, however Popofsky, 1904 reproduced presumably the same information in a published dissertation accessible at https://oceanrep.geomar.de/id/eprint/37008/1/Diss.1904Popofsky%2CA.pdf, in which the family placement is given.
