Taxonomic remark Australian Faunal Directory (2022 version) lists this genus in Erpobdellidae, however that record appears to date from no later than 2010. According to Nakano & Nguyen, 2015, "In accordance with the classification of Nesemann and Sharma (2012) coupled with an additional systematic study by Nakano (2011)", Dineta is classified in the Salifidae.
