Taxonomic remark New genus created for all marine Ceratium spp., however stated to be illegitimate by Calado & Huisman, 2010; subsequently replaced by the reinstated name Tripos Bory de Saint-Vincent, 1823, refer Gómez, 2013. From Gómez, 2013: the genus Neoceratium is illegitimate because the type species, Neoceratium furca, has the same basionym as the type of Biceratium Vanhöffen. [details]
