Attribution to Cuvier, 1798 follows modern sources including WoRMS, 2024 version and (e.g.) McFadden et al., 2022; Neave (Nomenclator Zoologicus) does not have that name instance but instead lists Corallium Marsigli in Müller, 1766, and Corallium Lamarck, 1801, as 2 separate names, interpreted as a likely nonen nudum and a presumed later usage in IRMNG, respectively.
