Subfamily Lamiinae [details]
Taxonomic remark Much literature has been written about this name and Tetrops Kirby, 1826. Even if one were to assume that Saperda praeusta (itself hardly a universally agreed interpretation) is available to be designated as a type species of Tetrops Kirby, Thomson explicitly designated Lamia tornator as type in 1869 and maintaining Kirby as author would require a conservation proposal.
Thus IRMNG takes the position that Tetrops Kirby is an incorrect subsequent spelling of Tetraopes Dalman, and that Stephen is the first to make Tetrops available, with Saperda praeusta the type species my monotypy. [details]
