Taxonomic remark Substitute name for Megalopteris Schenk 1883, non (J.W. Dawson) E.B. Andrews 1875 (nom. cons.). Yabe's publication (in Japanese) can be understood with the help of Q. Wang, Acta Phytotax. Geobot. 60: 68-70. 2009. (Index Nominum Genericorum). Authorship for this genus has been cited as Schenk in F. von Richthofen, 1883 (which was an autograph correction, not validly published) and H. Yabe, 1904 (per Wang, 2009 and Index Nominum Genericorum 2022 version), however according to Doweld, 2013, the genus should correctly be ascribed to Geyler, 1886. [details]
