Taxonomic remark Ichnogenus: coprolite (described from fossil excreta). From Knaust, 2020: Triplifaex is poorly characterized based on a single phosphate nodule with several specimens on its surface, collectively dealt with as holotype... Their internal structure remains unknown. Based on their phosphatic content it cannot be excluded that Triplifaex is a vertebrate coprolite, if it is a coprolite at all. Due to poorly characterized diagnostic features and the lack of a single holotype, Triplifaex is considered a nomen dubium. [details]
