Taxonomic remark This class has sometimes been included in subphylum Crustacea, but appears to be outside it, refer e.g. Pulsipher et al., 2022, who "found that the Thylacocephalans occupied a position more primitive than the crustaceans and myriapods as basal stem-group mandibulates.
