Taxonomic remark Australian workers have used Microphyllopteris Arber, 1917 for Mesozoic ferns otherwise placed in Gleichenites A.C. Seward, 1927 non Göppert, 1836. However according to Vera & Passalia, 2012, the type species of Microphyllopteris is in fact a pteridosperm (synonym of Rintoulia) and these authors propose the new name Korallipteris for the relevant fern taxa. [details]
