Taxonomic remark Interpreted as a phase in the life cycle of non-metazoan, encysting protists (Megasphaera) by Zhang & Zhang, 2022. Cunningham et al., 2017 consider that Megasphaera, Yinitianzhushania, Parapandorina and Megaclonophycus should all be included in the earlier named genus Tianzhushania, a proposal not currently accepted by other workers.
