Taxonomic remark Previously Chilodontidae Wenz, 1938, non Chilodontidae Eigenmann, 1912 (Pisces). This amended spelling was proposed by Herbert & Bouchet to the ICZN in 2011 (Case 3555) but has yet to receive a ruling as at February 2019; the name in this form is used in Bouchet et al.'s 2017 "Revised classification, nomenclator and typification of gastropod and monoplacophoran families" and in WoRMS in anticipation.
