Taxonomic remark Status is unclear: most sources e.g. Tropicos (2020 version) and Hassler, "World Plants: Synonymic Checklists of the Vascular Plants of the World", version Sep 2020, include species of Dianthera in Justicia at this time, however Plants of the World Online (Dec 2020) recognises Dianthera as an accepted genus, but citing only Govaerts, R. (2000). World Checklist of Seed Plants Database as the source. Kiel et al., 2018, currently treat Dianthera as a section of Justicia, while noting that in one of several possible future scenarios, the name might be reinstated at genus level. Until any more definitive recent work is published, IRMNG presently follows Hassler, 2020 (as also used in Catalogue of Life, 2020 version), Kiel et al., 2018, and Tropicos. [details]
