Taxonomic remark Considered to be paraphyletic on molecular evidence and its contents reassigned to other phyla in recent treatments e.g. by Tedersoo et al., 2018, however retained at phylum level by Ruggiero at al., 2015 and Index Fungorum (2019 version), with included apparently monophyletic groups (Entomophthoromycotina, Mucoromycotina, etc.) recognised as subphylum level; some of these are now recognised as separate phyla in Index Fungorum (2019) and in therefore in IRMNG. [details]
