Taxonomic remark A homotypic synonym of Arthrodendron (A.C. Seward) D.H. Scott 1900 according to Index Nominum Genericorum. Replaced with Arthodendron on account of potential confusibility with Calamopitys Unger 1856, however in genus form, Arthodendron considered not validly published by Reed, 1952 and replaced (again) with the new new name Arthroxylon, refer Reed, 1952 since Arthodendron subsequently used for a different taxon (fossil alga, now foraminifer) by Unger, 1904.
